Nigeria

The Super Falcons, Africa’s most seasoned participants, are gearing up for their ninth appearance in the World Cup. In this edition, they find themselves placed in Group B alongside formidable opponents: Olympic champions Canada, Australia, and the Republic of Ireland.

Their campaign kicks off on Friday, July 21 at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium, where they will face Canada in an eagerly awaited showdown. Six days later, they will showcase their skills at the Brisbane Stadium, taking on the Australian team.

On July 31, the African heavyweights will return to the same venue, brimming with determination as they go head-to-head against the Republic of Ireland. With their wealth of experience and talent, the Super Falcons are prepared to give their all and leave a lasting impression in this fiercely competitive tournament.

 

South Africa

Banyana Banyana, South Africa’s women’s national football team, is set to make its second appearance in the World Cup. Placed in Group G for this ninth edition, they face an exciting journey ahead.

Their first match will take place on July 23 at the Wellington Regional Stadium, where they will go head-to-head with Sweden, the 2003 finalists. Four days later, Banyana Banyana will travel to the Dunedin Stadium to confront Argentina, presenting an opportunity to showcase their skills.

Nigeria Women’s World Cup 2023 squad: Who’s in & who’s out?

The group stage will culminate on August 2 at the Wellington Stadium, with Banyana Banyana engaging in a crucial match against Italy.
