Players under age 21 are all eligible to win the PFA Youngest Player award voted by players under PFA union. Active players under the PFA union vote for their youngest player of the year with other several awards from PFA union. The Professional Footballers Association has confirmed six nominees for the 2024 PFA Youngest Player Award. The PFA Player of the Year nominees 2024 are Bukayo Saka, Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro and Michael Olise.
2024 PFA Youngest player Nominees
Bukayo Saka won the previous 2022/2023 PFA Youngest Player of the Year at 21 years. Bukayo Saka clocked 22 years in September 2023, which means he is still eligible for 2024 award.
England national team winger Saka had a brilliant form in 2023/2024 scoring 16 goals and 9 assists for Arsenal. Saka nomination means he is contesting for PFA youngest player for the second time after Arsenal finished second in EPL.
Manchester United were the only club with two players nominated for the award. We know Erik ten hag is among the best coaches at grooming young players. having Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho on the list.
Both players contributed to Manchester United winning the English FA Cup against city rival.
Garnacho registered 7 goals with four assists for Manchester United in the English Premier League. At the same time, Kobbie Mainoo bagged 3 important goals for United with just an assist.
Youngest PFA Player of the Year 2024
Mainoo’s brilliant performance at Euro 2024 added to him making the list of PFA’s youngest players in 2024. England’s national team lost 2-1 to Spain at Euro 2024 final, Mainoo was at his best form at the tournament.
