- Manchester united are ready to Atlanta €75 with add-ons
- Personal terms between both clubs and Hojlund has been agreed earlier
Rasmus Hojlund to Manchester United confirmed
Hojlund to Man utd still remains one of United’s top target before the season begins as Manchester United’s pursuit of a new striker this summer has led them to the former Sturm Graz forward, who had an impressive record of nine goals in 32 Serie A appearances last season.
However, United’s initial offer was rejected by Atalanta, and their hopes of securing the 20-year-old were further challenged when Paris Saint-Germain entered the bidding with a competing proposal. Despite the competition, United has now presented a final package valued at €85 million, including €10 million in potential add-ons.
Fortunately, personal terms between the player and the club were settled earlier in July. The proposed agreement spans five years, and United is eager to finalize the deal swiftly so that the young striker can join their pre-season preparations.
Rasmus Hojlund set for Man Utd
Notably, Hojlund was not part of Atalanta’s friendly match against Bournemouth on Saturday, signaling the imminent transfer. The Italian club has already announced the signing of El Bilal Toure from Almeria as Hojlund’s replacement.
Assuming all goes as planned, the Danish international Hojlund will become Manchester United’s third major signing of the summer, following the acquisitions of midfielder Mason Mount and goalkeeper Andre Onana. Additionally, star forward Marcus Rashford has recently committed to a new contract at Old Trafford.

“Hojlund’s Eager Move to Manchester United Hits a Roadblock in Negotiations”
In a surprising turn of events, promising football talent Hojlund expressed his keen desire to part ways with Atalanta and join the ranks of Manchester United. Personal terms were not an issue in this potential transfer; however, negotiations encountered a major stumbling block regarding the up-front fee and its distribution across 2024.
Manchester United had proposed the idea of player exchanges to sweeten the deal, but unfortunately, Atalanta showed no interest in that option.
The likes of Arsenal and Chelsea had previously shown interest in Hojlund, with scouts attentively observing his performance during his Denmark debut. Manchester United, along with several other clubs, was later informed that the price tag for Hojlund acquisition would be around €70 million, a figure comparable to their previous pursuits of players like Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen.
The struggles Manchester United faced up front during the 2022/23 season were evident despite their victories in the Carabao Cup and successful qualification for the Champions League. To address the issue, they brought in Wout Weghorst on a temporary loan, while relying on the fitness of Rashford and Anthony Martial, who both took on the central role when available.
Rashford proved to be Manchester United’s leading scorer in the Premier League during the 2022/23 season, impressively netting 17 goals. In all competitions, he showcased his prowess, finding the back of the net a total of 30 times. However, this impressive performance also highlighted the urgent need for a potent attacking force to bolster the team’s chances in future competitions.
