The Nigeria champions Eyimba fc were eliminated from the CAF champions league last weekend by Al Ahli Benghazi from Libya. Al Ahli Benghazi won the Nigeria champions 4-3 on aggregate after a goalless draw in the second leg. The chairman Kanu Nwankwo has backed and he also believes the club will bounce back to form after their defeat.
It was not a good news for Kanu after the two time African champion were eliminated in the preliminary round of the Champions League, according to report the former Arsenal attacker said “When you lose a game of course it is bad. But if you look at the positives from the game, you’ll say that they did well”.
The young talented players must understand that set back are part of life, and it helps us learn. Enyimba’s attention will now turn towards the upcoming African Football League. The Peoples Elephant will also be looking at the possibility of retaining the Nigeria League Championship.
Kano also spoke about bringing more players to the team having looking at the games at hand in the African Football League and the Nigeria league, “we have to get more player to join the ones we have” Kanu said. For a big club as Eyimba it is important to have a squad depth to player all competitions.
