Real Madrid Continues to Focus on Building a Future Squad
Real Madrid has been steadily and meticulously constructing a squad for the future, investing heavily in young talents from around the world. Their efforts have borne fruit, as players like Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, Fede Valverde, and Eduardo Camavinga have already developed into superstars. Even this summer, Real Madrid has secured the signings of Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler.
Looking ahead, Real Madrid envisions a midfield composed of promising talents such as Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni, Valverde, and Bellingham, provided they all remain with the club. However, amidst these exciting prospects, one midfielder who seems to have fallen by the wayside is Reinier.
According to AS, Reinier is set to be loaned out again as there is currently no place for him in the team this season. Real Madrid is actively working to find a suitable arrangement, and Girona has shown strong interest in securing his services.
Reinier arrived at Madrid from Flamengo in January 2020 for a reported transfer fee of approximately €30 million. However, after three years, the Brazilian midfielder is yet to make his first-team debut for Los Blancos.
Reinier spent two seasons on loan at Borussia Dortmund and had a temporary stint with La Liga side Girona during the 2022/23 campaign. Unfortunately, these loan spells did not yield impressive performances, and time appears to be running out for Reinier to showcase his abilities to Real Madrid.
After his loan spell at Girona concluded, Reinier has returned and is participating in pre-season training with the rest of the squad. However, as things currently stand, it seems he is not part of the first-team plans for the upcoming season.
