Who won PFA player of the Year 2024?
Manchester City and England International player has been named PFA player of the year 2023/24 ahead of Haaland. Six other players including his teammate Erling Haaland were nominated for the award.
Phil Foden’s performance in 2023/24 campaign was outstanding, scoring 19 goals with 8 assists in the premier league. Manchester City attacker also registered 27 goals in all competitions, he played a key role in City’s EPL title win.
“To win this award is something special and I am very proud of and grateful for,” Foden said. “To be recognized by your fellow professionals means everything and I would like to thank everyone who voted for me.
“I also want to specially thanks to my coach Pep and all my teammates helping me to get better every day.
“I’d also like to congratulate Kyle Walker, Rodrigo and Erling Haaland making it into the PFA Team of the Year. Knowing their input and quality was awesome as players were recognized in the English Premier League.
“Last season was another very special one for everyone at the Club. The goal now is to focus is concentrated on trying to achieve more success this term.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea Cole Palmer who scored 22 goals with 11 assists in 2023/24 was awarded the PFA youngest player.
Though Phil Foden consistency with his performance in the English premier league has been the reason why he won. But Cole Palmer will have to show more of his performance this season to stand a chance for the next award.
Who won 2024 PFA Youngest player of the Year
Cole Palmer won the youngest player of the year ahead of other nominees which includes Manchester United Mainoo and Garnacho.
This means Garnacho, Mainoo, Pedro will have to wait till 2024/25 to win the PFA Youngest Player award. With age their side, if they perform better they stand a chance of winning the award in the coming season
