Mohammed Salisu Joins Monaco for €15m from Southampton
Mohammed Salisu, the Ghanaian international has signed a five year deal with Monaco from English club Southampton.
Monaco’s search for center-backs this summer has been in the spotlight. In January, Benoît Badiashile departed the club, and since then, he has not been replaced. Additionally, there were expectations that Axel Disasi would leave Monaco, and it now appears that he has indeed completed his medical with Chelsea and is on the verge of joining the Premier League club. Chrislain Matsima has also been linked with a possible departure from Monaco.
According AS Monaco, Mohammed Salisu has been secured from the relegated Southampton team for a reported fee of €15m. Salisu made 80 appearances during his time with the Saints, with 68 of those in the Premier League. However, Monaco is not done yet in bolstering their defense, and it is likely that another center-back will arrive soon. Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham has been strongly linked with the club, and according to L’Équipe, personal terms have already been agreed upon by the Englishman.
