- Carlo Ancelotti spoke about Jude’s best position in the field
- Jude Bellingham made his debut against AC Milan
Jude Bellingham: Ancelotti opted for a tactical shift in the Milan game, setting up his team in a 4-4-2 midfield diamond formation, a departure from Real’s long-standing 4-3-3 system.
The match marked an eagerly awaited unofficial debut for Bellingham, whose transfer from Borussia Dortmund could potentially reach £116m.
Speaking about Jude Bellingham’s performance, Ancelotti praised the young midfielder, describing him as a phenomenal player with a well-rounded skill set. He brings an impressive level of intensity to the matches and showcases excellent movement off the ball.
“Jude Bellingham is different from our other midfielders; he possesses the ability to find pockets of space effectively,” Ancelotti explained. “In the formation we used today, he excels as the number 10. However, if we switch back to the 4-3-3 setup, he could also play as a left or right midfielder. Nevertheless, to fully utilize his unique qualities, the ideal position for him would be the number 10 role.”
“Jude Bellingham showcased excellent positioning and delivered a strong performance on the field. Undoubtedly, the team will need some time to fully adapt to his extraordinary quality. His skill in penetrating the area presents a valuable asset that we aim to maximize throughout this season. I have a positive outlook, and we’ll continue to work diligently.”
Although Real Madrid emerged victorious in the match, they had to stage a comeback against the Rossoneri, who initially secured a 2-0 lead with goals from Fikayo Tomori and Luca Romero in the first half. However, a rapid double by Federico Valverde just before the halftime mark equalized the score for Los Blancos, with Vinicius Junior ultimately sealing the game with a third goal near the end.
Up next for Real on this pre-season tour are matches against Manchester United, Barcelona, and Juventus, promising exciting encounters in the days to come.
