- Axel Disasi completes his medical ahead of his move to Chelsea
- deal to be valued at €45 million for Disasi
Chelsea has finalized the medical for Axel Disasi (25) in preparation for his transfer from AS Monaco. The accomplished French international is set to join the London club on a five-year contract, with the possibility of extending it for an additional year, as reported by Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato.
Reports from The Athletic last weekend confirmed that Chelsea had successfully negotiated the transfer of Disasi, with the deal believed to be valued at approximately €45 million. Monaco was eager to part ways with Disasi during this summer transfer window, while the player himself was enthusiastic about the prospect of moving to the Premier League. The move comes as Chelsea sought to fill the void left by Wesley Fofana’s serious injury and were in the market for a right-sided center-back.
The completion of the deal is imminent, as Disasi successfully underwent his medical tests in England yesterday. The talented former Stade de Reims center-back is set to ink his contract with Chelsea on Wednesday, securing his commitment to the club until 2028, with a potential one-year extension option. Following Lesley Ugochukwu’s confirmation of joining the Blues from Stade Rennais on Tuesday, he will become the second Frenchman to make a move to Chelsea in just as many days.
